Enrolling Your Child
Zone
Our school operates an enrolment policy within a defined zone for pupils.
- If you live within the Clarkville School zone you are guaranteed a place at our school.
- If you live outside the Clarkville School zone your child will only be able to enrol through an out of zone ballot, which is held termly, if there are spaces available.
You can find details of Clarkville’s enrolment zone on this web page: http://nzschools.tki.org.nz/
To find out more about attending Clarkville School please complete an expression of interest online by clicking here.
Pre-enrolment
We encourage parents to pre-enrol their preschool child by the age of four.
Please complete an expression of interest online by clicking here. This is simply an indication of your interest in enrolling your child and means you will receive the necessary enrolment information closer to your child’s 5th birthday.
New Entrant Enrolment
At the age of five, a child may start school. Most children in New Zealand begin school at five years although it is not compulsory to commence until the age of six.
The term before your child begins school we will be in touch to make a time to meet with you and to plan the transition to school visits.

Swimming Pool
Our covered pool means that all classes are given regular tuition during an extended season. It is appreciated if parents ensure that children bring their swimming gear each day and that all gear, including goggles, is named. Our swimming programme helps develop competence and water safety skills.
Swimming sports for senior pupils and a swimming demonstration for our juniors are important events on our calendar.
Keyholders are asked to sign an indemnity, abide by pool rules and respect the facility. Keyholders are also asked to assist with monitoring the pool during the holidays. Please see Kathryn MacIntosh in the office for more information regarding keys.
