School closed for Easter Tuesday
Wed Mar 31 09:09amDear Parents
The Easter holiday dates vary from year to year and are determined by the moon. Easter usually falls within the school holidays and this can catch us out when it happens within the term.
Easter Holiday dates for 2021:
Good Friday: 2 April
Easter Monday: 5 April
Easter Tuesday: 6 April
Please be aware that the Tuesday after Easter Monday is a school holiday but not a statutory holiday, meaning that schools have to be shut while everyone else goes back to work.
The rule to close schools on Easter Tuesday was first introduced in 1954. It’s unclear exactly why it was introduced, but the holiday has remained in place and is part of the Education Act legislation.
I wish to highlight this to you to ensure you have plans in place for next Tuesday when school will be closed.
Have a safe and happy Easter.

White Elephant: Items can be dropped off to the MPF, before and after school, Mon, Tues & Wed
Mon Mar 08 08:54amGala – this Friday
Sun Mar 07 07:45pmGala help needed :
With the good news we are now back in level one we are very happy that our Gala can go ahead. We have a list of last minute jobs to do this week and Kristy and her helpers are busy working on those. But we still need your help. On Gala night we need people to help serve the food and there are still HEAPS of spaces to fill – we still need at least 12 people. We currently have some parents working all night on a food stall, and we also have some of our ex-students helping out. We are getting desperate! If someone in your family is available to help on Gala night please let Kristy know urgently. We have broken the night into two shifts, 4-5.30 and 5.30-7, so you won’t be stuck working all night. And you won’t be expected to prepare the food, all the hard work will be done and you just need to take the money and serve the food. This is not a time to sit back and think someone else will do it. Please don’t be shy and get in touch with Kristy on newhaven72@gmail.com

Seesaw is a platform for student engagement that inspires students of all ages to do their best, and saves teachers time! Students use creative tools to take pictures, draw, record videos and more to capture learning in a portfolio. Teachers find or create activities to share with students. The Seesaw platform is used for homework activities as well as in class work.
Parents are also notified by the class teacher about classroom and school activities and events via the Seesaw platform. Parents can also Seesaw their child’s teacher.
Families only have access to their child’s journal. This means you will see student work tagged with your child’s name and posts the teacher tags with ‘Everyone’. Families will also be able to see any comment made by another user on their child’s journal posts.
